Our Principals

I am Katie Horton, the proud principal/ director of special education at RiverEast Therapeutic Day School. I have been the principal at RiverEast since 2016 and a part of SPPS since 2000. I am so grateful to have found RiverEast Therapeutic Day School. This has truly been my favorite job since I have been in the district. It is my pleasure to work closely with staff and students as we work to help students develop skills they need to be successful throughout their educational career and beyond. We are lucky to be an extremely small school that can work to individualize programming to meet students' unique needs. I enjoy getting to know families so we can better serve our students.

My name is Elizabeth Corris but most students call me Ms. Corris or Ms. Liz.  I am the proud Assistant Principal of RiverEast Therapeutic Day School.  This is my 5th year as Assistant Principal at RiverEast.  Prior to working at RiverEast, I worked as an Assistant Principal in Minneapolis Public Schools as well as Oakland Public Schools in Oakland, CA.  Over the past 24 years, I have worked as a teacher, a school social worker and a school administrator.  I feel passionate about ensuring that RiverEast students have access to comprehensive and rigorous school programming.  This includes core academic instruction, social emotional support and a therapeutic approach to student behavior and mental health needs. 

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my 12 year old daughter, 14 year old son, two cats and our very energetic 3 year old yellow lab!
